NOTES ON ITALY

Dal Greco di sara

I visited Italy with friends. As you can imagine, a big part of my time there was spent eating. Let me show you.

There were a lot of unique, beautiful things about Orbetello, a town by the sea. One of them was that dinner was served at a certain hour and none of the restaurants would give you food until then. For that reason, it was necessary to make a reservation a little in advance if you wanted to eat out.

After very many meals of pasta and pizza, i was ready to eat something different so i ordered steak and potatoes at Dal Greco.

First they had these very beautiful plates.

Cute, right?

Aside from the bread that is ALWAYS served in Italy, we got these fried vegetables before the meal. They were…interesting.

I was really into trying new things, which is how my friends, i tasted Gnocchi. (pronounced nyoki). It is made of mostly potatoes, cheese and some sauces. It may also have eggs. Like pasta, it may look small but it is deceptively filling.

I thought it would be a soft and mushy dish. It was not. And for that reason i enjoyed it.

I’m not the biggest meat eater and I’m wont to leave some pieces of beef when served so when i got this steak, i didn’t know where to begin. Nevertheless, I managed eat this half kilo almost by myself. Juicy, soft and very tasty. It was not over spiced and this made the beef really shine on its own.

Like it most of the places we ate in Italy, service at Dal Greco di sara was great.
