Why does pineapple on food get so much heat? I think I have figured it out. It’s because it’s loud, it’s boisterous, and it’s both sweet and tangy. It really has no lane. It sits on top of a pizza and demands to be noticed. People do not like that. Because of that bias, (I don’t have a personal problem with pineapple really) I was reluctant to order the Hawaiian chicken burger but I did and I was glad for it.
What they did was to place a smattering, a whisper of pineapple. I had expected a wedge of pineapple seated atop the chicken so when I did not see it, I assumed it had been forgotten. A few bites in and there it was, a flavouring of pineapple…rub? Very well done chef.
Sight
I last ate at the Great Indian Dhaba in 2018! And just like then, the first thing i was served was a cool veggie starter with some sauces. It was good to see that some things never change. Serving people food with no green is so barbaric to me, (I’m looking at you fast food chains)

Perhaps i should start a series of reviews of places i have eaten at before, something like the Food Trucks 2.0 article!
Taste
I liked that the burger came cut into quarters for me. I was not hungry so I was surprised to look up and find that I was done with the 3rd quarter of the burger!

It was also great to find a decent burger at 25,000shs. While I would have liked a little more moisture in my chicken, the bun was fresh and firm without being hard. A formula hard to come by. The chicken was tender and the dressings were not too much as to drown the taste of the meal.
Oh! The chips were fine too. I never thought I would see the day when I would have to do a review of good chips in Kampala but that day has come. The chips are just horrendous out there. ( A topic for another day)
